RESIST: Funding Social Change Since 1967

Responses to 40th Anniversay Bonus Grants
In celebration of our 40th anniversary, the Board of RESIST was thrilled to award an additional $40,000 in grants in December of 2007, divided evenly among general support grant recipients. Read some of their responses below.

Thank you so much for you this unexpected and timely gift. We, at Seacoast Outright, continue to be inspired by the voice and the presence of RESIST in our world and the organizations which RESIST Funds. Thank you so much for all that you do to continue to help empower the disenfranchised, the silent, the oppressed and the non violent peacemakers.

We appreciate all that you do!

Thank you so much for the extra $350 towards our multi year grant. What a gift!

I am so grateful that there are organizations like yours that are devoted to helping grassroots efforts like ours. The support makes so much difference in our ability to outreach into the community and spark awareness and change. Thank you again on behalf of the entire Peace Center,

We're going to post RESIST's contribution in as many places as we can......perhaps the other funders will take heed and do what your incredible foundation has done! Plus, if someone does a good deed we want to honor it, especially in this day and age...

I'm also extending an invitation to come for a visit....Sandpoint is a hop, skip and a jump away, mid July through mid Sept. is the best time! You could justify a site visit here......in Kellogg, only a hour away from Sandpoint.

What a wonderful way to celebrate the great work RESIST has accomplished over the last 40 years, by increasing the work! Thank you and all the folks at RESIST who thought of this. We will continue our work to end the Iraq War, stop the US from attacking Iran, work with students to oppose military recruitment in schools, and standing with migrant workers and other immigrants as they organize for their rights. Needless to say we could not do this work without the wonderful support of RESIST and other progressive foundations.

Congratulations for 40 years of keeping us all moving forward.

After a pretty crazy week for immigrants in Oregon, this is GREAT news. Thank you very much for your support of immigrants rights.

Thank you so much for this unexpected and always appreciated support. We will put it to good use in these ever more tragic times.

Thank you again, and keep up the great work. Congratulations on 40 years of steadfast commitment and effort toward peace and justice.

You folks are truly an energizer organization! And thoughtful and infinitely helpful too! Your being THERE gives us all strength and renewed determination to keep on keeping on. Thank you. It means the world. Prisoners and immigrants do not feel that they have a lot of people joined in their struggles. Largely because of you, they have a lot more! Mil gracias!

It was so cool to get the letter today indicating we have a free $350 dollars... I have never seen that happen before!

I got a really nice surprise when I opened an envelope from RESIST today and a check fell out!

Thanks for thinking of us and sharing RESIST's 40th anniversary good fortune with us. Our project on immigration and trade is really starting to come together. We have a catchy name "kNOw US AND THEM" and a bunch of new allies. I hope we'll be able to report great things in the near future.

Thanks so much for sending me the good news that RESIST will be receiving some additional grant money! We so appreciate your support we are about to embark on a major campaign here in Americus to get rid of a private, predatory probation company that is crushing poor folks, and the "bonus" money we'll be getting from you all will help us create and distribute some materials throughout town.

oh what great news! We ran out last year so we were going to watch our money especially carefully this year, and just run out of leaflets and pamphlets if we had to. I am so thrilled and send you many many thank yous.
